Released in 1994, this is a collection of instrumental versions of American Gospel songs from various sources, black and white, famous and obscure.
The arrangements vary from stark solos to quite grand string and brass arrangements from Joe Weed and Randy Masters which have resulted in this record being used as part of the soundtracks of a number of films and documentaries in the US. It is an extraordinarily atmospheric collection.
Martin is also joined by Doug Bruns on harmonica and Paul Hostetter on guitar.
