Denmark and Dance!

Martin has just got back from a fantastic few days in Denmark which he and road manager Terry thoroughly enjoyed – great concerts, great country, great people! – and is about to set off for some UK dates later this week, including performing at The King’s Place in London as part of their Wild Singing weekend. Martin will be in conversation with Matthew Bannister from the Folk On Foot podcast during the first half and then performing songs from his most recent album, ‘Rooted’ in the second half. You can get more information and tickets here: https://www.kingsplace.co.uk/whats-on/folk/martin-simpson-2/

Last week, Martin was invited to the press launch of the Mark Bruce Company’s ‘Return To Heaven’ which he unfortunately couldn’t attend in person, but a couple of us did from Simpsonian Music and it was fantastic! Mark Bruce and his astonishing company of dancers have a long term connection with Martin and his music, including Mark’s choreographing of a piece to Martin’s performance of the traditional song Beaulampkin from many years ago! You can watch the video of it here: https://www.markbrucecompany.com/index.php/184-beaulampkin
If you get a chance to go and see ‘Return To Heaven’ we would all thoroughly recommend it! https://www.markbrucecompany.com/index.php/productions/current-projects/76-return-to-heaven
